Swimming

Children in Year 4 have swimming lessons each term as part of their PE provision.  We are lucky enough to be in walking distance of Basildon Sporting Village. Schools must publish the percentage of pupils within its year 6 cohort who met the national curriculum swimming and water safety requirements.

Percentages of pupils who achieved the expected standards in 2023:

• Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres: 58%
• Use a range of strokes effectively: 58%
• Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations’: 58%
