Class 8

Welcome to Class 8

Year 2
Class Teachers: Miss Boukriss and Mrs Morrad
Teaching Assistant: Miss Massey

We welcome the children back to school and look forward to a new year of learning together.

This Spring term our exciting Topic is....Amazing Africa!

Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday.

Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school at all times.

Children in Class 8 are able to change their reading books daily when they have completed the book that they are reading. When you listen to your child read, this can be recorded in their Home School Diary and will count towards reading awards! We ask that parents share stories with their children to encourage their love of reading as well as supporting them with any homework and spellings that they bring home.  Homework will be given out on Thursday to be handed in on Tuesday.

Your child can also access books online using their BugClub login on - You can find this login in their home/school diary. Our school code is qxst. A link to this website is provided below.

Also in their home/school diary is a list of common exception words the children need to read and spell at the end of Year 2. Please try to practise these with your child as much as you can.

To help enhance your child’s Maths knowledge at home, we are using a fun, interactive online resource called MyMaths. MyMaths is an interactive online teaching and homework service, full of lessons, quizzes and games, carefully matched to your child’s learning in class. Your child will be set a task and it will appear in the Homework area so don’t forget to log on and see what challenges they have been set. Just go to and use the login information inside your child's homework book. Your child will receive a special Maths sticker for completing each task. A link to this website is provided below.

The school doors open at 8:40am and children must be in school by 8:50am.

A member of staff will be on the Year 2 gate every morning to greet you children into school. Class 8 will be collected from the main KS1 doors at the end of the day. This is the same door which they would have been collected from in Year 1.

If you have any questions please ask Miss Boukriss, Mrs Morrad or Miss Massey who is more than happy to help! Thank you for visiting our class page.
