Modern Foreign Languages at Ghyllgrove

At Ghyllgrove our language learning is centred around French, which is delivered through engaging spoken lessons, games and songs. We believe for language learning to be successful it should be fun, practical and deepen their understanding of the culture as well. In addition to French, children get the opportunity to discover many other interesting and exciting languages from all over the world through our Language Activity Days. The language teaching at Ghyllgrove should equip children with the ability to express their thoughts and ideas in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. Each KS2 class will be taught French for half a term, each term. In addition to our class lessons, we celebrate Language of the Month, where every month children throughout the school explore a different language from around the world.
